Editorial standards and review process
MoneySights publishes plain-English personal-finance guidance. This page sets out who is responsible for it and how it is checked before it goes live.
Who is accountable
Every article is published under the name of the site's editor, Alex, who is responsible for what appears here. There is no anonymous byline on this site: if you have a question or a complaint about a piece, you are addressing a named person.
How articles are produced
Research and drafting are carried out with the help of AI tools. That draft is then reviewed, edited and fact-checked by the editor, and only the editor publishes it. Automation is used to speed up drafting; it is never the final word on what is published.
How figures are checked
Numbers, calculations and worked examples are verified before publication. Where a figure depends on assumptions (rates, timeframes, income), the assumption is stated in the article so you can substitute your own. We avoid forecasts presented as certainty and we do not invent statistics, quotes, prices or case studies.
Sources and limits
Where a claim depends on an external source, we link to it. MoneySights provides general information and educational tools, not personal financial advice, and nothing here is a recommendation to buy or sell any product. Your circumstances are yours; consider licensed advice before acting on anything material.
Corrections
If something here is wrong, we want to know. Corrections are made promptly, and material corrections are noted in the article rather than quietly edited away.
